I spent the late afternoon getting the new Xbox 360 250GB Console with Kinect setup and then gave the included Kinect Adventures a try. It didn't take long before I was feeling tired...boy am I out of shape :( I then turned the console over to my son to play Kinectimals for a while and then may wife began playing Dance Central this evening. They both had a blast!
Later in the evening I got my first experience with Your Shape Fitness Evolved and was again reminded at how bad of shape I am in. I went through the steps to setup my profile and let it evaluate what kind of shape I am in. Once all of this was done, I chose the Nice and Easy personal trainer option since I'm hoping it will let me ease out of my couch potato syndrome. Guess we'll see soon!
I think weekly updates is going to be the way to go with the blog updates since that is how often I currently plan to check my weight. If the game asks me more often, I may decide to include those updates as well.
Good luck with your training regiment. I look forward to reading about your progress. I'm curious to see what the kinect does for fitness. My wife and I are trying to decide if we are going to get one. What we are worried about is the "play space". Other than that it looks very fancy. What are your first impressions as a gamer?
Unfortunately...play space is a real concern. I have about 6 feet of free space from the tv to couch and it's not really enough. I'm told if you have the Kinect sensor higher that is helps, so I'm going to try that.
I've had limited use as a gamer, but enjoyed what I played of Kinect Adventures. The responsiveness is pretty good from what I can tell. My son had a blast with Kinectimals and my wife loved Dance Central so those are good initial signs for me.
Yes you doing well, i also have some weight problem , so i think this is useful for me also. Thanks.
