Disney World just announced extended dates for Free Dining and I'm so happy that my upcoming trip is included. I'm so glad I booked our ADRs last month, because now I'm sure the reservation lines are lit up and every booking will be filled soon. The only reservation that we won't be able to keep is at Coral Reef on our arrival night, but I'm not too disappointed about that.
The only alteration we're having to make is that we arrive on the 8th of January and the package will begin on the 9th. We were only going to get 4 hours or so in the parks on that day anyway and it will be nice to relax after a day of travelling. Now, we're planning to spend that evening at Downtown Disney and maybe eat dinner at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant(my Irish wife is nearly insisting). If anyone has suggestions for arrival day activities, let me know!

I haven't tried the Free Dining plan yet, let me know how it is. Most guidebooks I've read have said to be generous with using your credits early in the vacation (so you don't feel pressure at the end to be constantly eating to use them up and not let them go to waste).
We used the Quick Service plan on our last vacation and loved it. it gave us 2 counter service meals and 2 snacks a day. the snacks are what you have to be sure you use, they get forgotten easily. this time we're doing the full plan since we have so many character meals planned
