I wanted to be sure that everyone understands anything I say on this blog or any other social media is entirely my opinion and doesn't represent the view of my employer.
I have a lot of opinions about game development and the gaming industry in general and will occasionally toss them out there. My post on the used games market was based entirely from a developer perspective and was originally posted on a developer site to start a conversation.

In your opinion what is more harmful to the industry pirating or used games?
This sounds like butt covering to me from a man whose original words were taken very, very badly.
That said, if that was from a developer viewpoint, then would that suggest that you from a personal viewpoint would feel differently? OR is your viewpoint wholly different from that of the common consumer?
A blog is meant to be personal opinions. : )
Well, I have something you can think about next time you want to express opinions on used games market.
When someone buy a used game you don't earn anything, but someone who used to buy new games will since he sold his used game, with this money he'll be able to buy a new game, and there you'll earn money.
Now if we kill the used games market, the people who use to buy used games will turn to computers or piracy because most of them buy used games because they can't afford to pay games full price.
The ones who used to buy many new games by selling old ones will only buy a small bunch of new games because they won't have anymore the same amount of money to spend.
The result of this, less new games will be buy, so you'll earn even less money than now.
So think twice about this next time.
