It's nice having my birthday around MLK day each year, its almost like i'm getting a day off for my birthday.
Birthday's seem to mean less and less each year though. I honestly have a hard time remembering how old I will be.
I guess only milestone birthdays are as important now. 30, 40, etc.
I find it hard to think of myself as a Game Designer at age 50... i think early 40s is about the max age I'd consider for this job... maybe even late 30s.
I think i'd rather be in a management position in my 40s, you know... telling others how to make games by starting sentences with: Back when I was making games...
But, this industry is one that is constantly changing...and by the time I'm 40 I'm sure it will be a whole new set of positions and people that make games.
For now, I guess i'll just bust my tail every day becoming the best designer I can...and trust that in the end it will be time well spent.

Happy Birthday! I know how you feel about having a birthday around a holiday. My b-day is May 28th, so it's always around or on Memorial Day - so it's nice to usually be able to have a fun weekend doing something to celebrate or just relax. Hope you had a great one!
