I realized yesterday that we are under the 3 month mark until we depart for Disney World!  So, I've begun my process of printing out my initial touring plans and then working on a custom plan to remove and add necessary attractions.  I like to have initial plans handy as I read through the The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2011 (Unofficial Guides)

I was super bummed to find out that Splash Mountain is going to be closed during our trip :(  It is my entire family's favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom.  But, at least this visit we'll get to ride Space Mountain and see Hall of Presidents since they were closed last time.

Yeah, unfortunately WDW closes Splash Mountain pretty much every year during January for a refurbishment. One downside to the thin crowds and low prices (relatively speaking).

But honestly, I doubt you'll notice once you get there. By finding out in advance you're getting the initial disappointment out of the way and your expectations will be appropriate calibrated upon arrival, and it just gives you more time to do another one of your favorites!

Yeah, it's a bummer but i'm glad we found out now. Space Mountain was closed last year and Kian will get to ride it for the first time.
