It's becoming more difficult to say that I've seen something for the first time...but it happened today. I had parked at work and was walking one block to the building, when I came up on two boys that could have been no more than 13. They were smoking and I caught myself thinking about how young they were to be doing that. As I got closer, I smelled and saw that they were actually passing a joint back and forth as they were walking to school. Broad daylight, young teenagers, city street on their way to school. Amazing.
