I've been realizing lately that as people continue to get more work history under their belt and want to advance in their career...that in our industry it almost ALWAYS means becoming a lead of a discipline on your team. The thing that I'm starting to see as the problem with this...is that a lot of these people aren't leaders.

Being a leader requires a certain skill set that goes way above being a good artist, designer, or any discipline in any industry for that matter. Just becuase you've been at a company for several years and want to get a higher salary...shouldn't mean you have to do soemthing you're not skilled at does it?

Maybe that's just how our industry works...
