Our first day will be spent at the Magic Kingdom on our upcoming trip and its going to be a very full day. We start by having an 8am breakfast at The Crystal Palace so we can be ready to run when the park officially opens at 9am. We then have a full day on our touring plan before stopping for lunch at Pecos Bills so we are all good up until dinner time.
This is where my dilemma begins because there are extra magic hours until 11pm and I'm trying to decide what would be best to do for that last meal. I feel like we are going to want to take a significant break by this time and recharge before extra evening touring. The problem is that the Table Service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom are generally not the best places because of average food for the price.
The one place that we are considering is Tony's Town Square and I have a reservation for that evening that we are deciding if we should keep. Atmosphere and Characters are a very important part of a table service meal for us and this is severely lacking at Tony's. The other problem is that the food is generally mediocre as evidenced in a recent guest review at The Disney Food Blog.
So, do I keep a reservation for average food with very little atmosphere in order to get the evening break that I think the family will need? Or should we maybe consider leaving property for dinner at a nearby resort and coming back for the evening extra magic hours?

While Tony's isn't bad (and if you get a table on the patio during parade time, it's awesome!), you could easily take the monorail over to Kona Cafe or 'Ohana, 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey's (characters), Grand Floridian Cafe; or take the boat over to Whispering Canyon Cafe or Hoop Dee Doo Revue. All are quick trips. Not sure exactly when you're going and if it's too close to get the better ADRs, but those are all great restaurants!
Oh...I totally forgot about Hoop Dee Doo Revue. My family would love that! Maybe I can fit that in.
