Your Shape Fitness Evolved

In a previous post I was quick to talk about the areas that I felt Your Shape Fitness Evolved was lacking and felt that I should talk about a couple of things that I feel it does really well.

First thing is the really up beat music that it plays during the workouts.  I enjoy listening to it and it helps keep me moving.

The thing that I'm most impressed with is how great it is at keeping me in sync with the trainer.  The first way this is accomplished is by constant voice reminders when I'm not doing the exercise properly.  The voice is nice about it and more encouraging of proper technique than reprimanding.

Also, it notices as soon as i'm not moving in sync with the trainer and makes this very clear.  It turns the box around my avatar from green to gray, removes the line linking my avatar to the trainer and gives me a voice warning.

I've found that during my workouts I'm so focused on keeping in time with the trainer that I almost forget that I'm exercising.

One Response so far.

  1. That is a very interesting technique and quite clever. Distraction is a very powerful tool in game design. Btw, congrats on the loss of 3 lbs. Keep it up. I remember going on a diet/exercise routine last year while in the military... it wasn't easy to keep the motivation. Good luck.
