The last few weeks have been crazy. I've been trying to get back to blogging so I figure this is the right time since I can't think of a good way to fit this in a twitter post...

It started with getting my wisdom teeth out on April 9th and having that pain to deal with for the next week or so. Being on pain meds for a while meant I got to get driven around by my wife which was kinda cool...but a pain for her no doubt.

Then, the next week we find out that my last living grandparent is in the hospital and not doing well. So, we take a last minute trip to KY(seven hours driving each way) on sat morning and get there to see him that evening before turning around the next day and heading back home.

Three days later he passed away and I headed back to KY alone for the funeral. On top of all the extra traveling, it was a truly mentally exhausting experience. I didn't return to work until the following Tuesday and it took a while to get caught up.

The next weekend we had a birthday party planned for my son in KY, since my mother had never gotten to throw one for him. This was supposed to be the only trip to KY for the summer...but instead ended up being the last in a string of three. Needless to say, I'm pretty tired of traveling right now.

Then we get to last Thursday when I was planning a weekend of finally NOT traveling. To celebrate, my Appendix decided to mutiny so I was taken to surgery on Friday night and spent the weekend in the hospital. As I write this, it's the following Tuesday evening and I'm preparing to head back to work in the Morning.

The hardest part of all of this for me is the amount of work I've had to miss lately. I'm not used to missing much work in general and it's a really busy time on the project so it's making it rough. Luckily, I have a lot of faith in the people handling things for me while I'm out. But, I've still got SO much work to do...

One Response so far.
