U2 3D

My wife and I went to see U2 3D tonight and it was awesome. It's an IMAX concert with 3D glasses. I've been to two live U2 shows and this felt actually pretty close to being there.

Walking into the theatre we saw this poster and it gave us chills...

I built a new machine a few months ago...which completely died a few days ago. I went through all the normal diagnostics I've been doing for years now and narrowed it down to the motherboard or CPU finally.

The machine would get power, but wouldn't post anything...didn't get to bios...and didn't even give any error beeps. So after trying everything i could think of, last night I started trying things that shouldn't have any effect. The thing that ended up working was taking out the CMOS battery completely (instead of just resetting it) and leaving it out for 10 mins.

After that, things proceeded normally! I'm so glad i didn't have to rip everything out of my machine to RMA the motherboard.

I went to Coldstone last night to bring home some ice cream for me and my wife. As I walked in, I saw a dating couple...he was eating, she was looking at her phone.

As I left, i got an even bigger chuckle since they were both just texting on their phones at the same time.

Working today...

It's depressing to work on a holiday when virtually no other team is in the building. The parking garage gate was down, most of the lights are off, starbucks and the cafeterias are closed...

ugh

I'm playing crackdown right now and i'm getting a bit overwhelmed. There's SO much stuff that I can do whenever I want to. Yes, I understand this is the beauty of this kind of game...but I like a bit more structure to my play experience.

I guess i'll focus on taking down the gang leaders and do th extra stuff later on...
*NERD ALERT*

I have my first 3000 point Warhammer battle coming up in one week and i'm pretty stoked about it. My Wood Elves are taking on Josh's Ogre Kingdoms army and we'll both be able to field 2 Lords at this point total.

I settled on my list yesterday which gives me a combination of things i've always wanted to try and other components that I feel stongly will give me the victory. Now I just have to get some models put together during this week to be ready.

Derek Anderson wants 6 years - $48 mil+ ?

"From Rotoworld-Scout.com is reporting that Derek Anderson is looking for a contract in the Matt Schaub to Tony Romo range.Schaub signed a six-year $48 million deal before this season and Romo inked a six-year $67.5 million contract. With Brady Quinn waiting in the wings, it's unlikely that Anderson will see a six-year commitment from the Browns, but odds are that he'll be back for at least one more season, even if Cleveland has to slap the franchise tag on him. "

Ha.... HaHa..... BWAHAHA!!! you gotta be kidding me!

Anderson is trying to get a huge pay day before everyone figures out he's a .500 QB at BEST! I'll again say for the record that if I'm wrong about Anderson and he turns out to be great...I'll admit that, and be happy for my Brownies. But, IMO this dude is worth nowhere near that amount of money. If I heard he wanted that...I'd immediately say have a good career, let someone else sign him and get the 1st and 3rd this year for it.

I got together with 3 other guys from Oddworld last night and had a blast. It made me remember just how great of a team we had there and I miss working with those guys a lot.

Mass Effect

I finished Mass Effect yesterday and enjoyed every minute of it. It does a fantastic job of giving constant player choice that truly changes the outcome of the game. I decided to play an Infiltrator class (Sniper/Engineer) and went full Paragon(Good) by the time I was done. Every time I made a good choice, it wondered how things would change if I made a different choice. I'll soon go back and play with a different character type and focus on Renegade story arcs.

The game has a TON of side missions and stories, with dozens of planets to explore purely as an option. The combat locations are basic copies all over the place, with just the enemies and cover layout being different. There was enough of a change to feel a bit fresh, but the buildings were completely identical and it was hard not to feel like you were in the same place a lot of the time.

It took me 30 hours and some change to finish the game doing pretty much every side mission I came across. But, at one point in the story it takes you into the final arc without much warning of not being able to finish any other side stuff.

There is an achievement for completing the majority of the game with each of the alt chars. I took Ashley and Wrex to every mission i went to...and didn't get the achievement for either. Weird.
